New York is the third most populous state of the USA and it shares an international border with Canada. New York is home to 62 counties and the state's five largest cities are New York City, Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers and Syracuse. While Manhattan skyscrapers may dominate your thoughts of New York, the state is home to many mountanous regions, open landscapes of great beauty, numerous state parks and many lakes too! With its Canadian border it links to Lake Erie, Lake Ontario and the Niagara Falls can be toured from one state to the other. With a varied climate New York can be enjoyed in Sun and Snow with a wide variety of activities taking place throughout the year.

Albany is the capital of the State of New York, it lies slightly to the south of the juncture of the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers. Albany is built on the site of the Dutch Fort Orange, and its surrounding community of Beverwyck. The English acquired the site from the Dutch in 1664 and renamed it Albany, in honor of the Duke of Albany. Albany possesses an active artistic community and culture. The Albany Symphony Orchestra, Capital Repertory Theatre and Albany Insitute of History and Art provide outlets for locally composed, created and curated works, as well as traveling exhibitions and shows. There are several small, private art galleries and antiquarian book shops in Albany, mainly clustered around Lark Street between Washington Avenue and Madison Avenue.

Long Island is an island in New York, it is the 17th most populous island in the world, ahead of Ireland, Jamaica and the Japanese island of Hokkaido. True to its name, the island is much longer than it is wide, with only from 12 to 20 miles between the southern Atlantic coast and Long Island Sound. The westernmost end of Long Island contains the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens, and the central and eastern portions contain Nassau and Suffolk counties. Buffalo is New York's second-largest city, located in western New York State. It is the cultural center of the Buffalo-Niagara Region, a diverse metropolitan area with a population of 1.2 million people. Buffalo lies at the eastern end of Lake Erie, at the southern head of the Niagara River, which connects Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.

Niagara County is a county located in the U.S. state of New York. The county name is from the Indian word Ongiara, meaning "thunder of waters," referring to the sound of the famous waterfalls. Niagara County is in the extreme western part of New York State, just north of Buffalo and adjacent to Lake Ontario on its northern border and the Niagara River and Canada on its western border.
